🏗️Controversial Airport Road Industrial Park Gets New Hearing Date
A hearing at the Johnson City High School auditorium will be held for the proposed 537-acre "Broome Tech Park" spearheaded by the Broome County Industrial Development Agency in the Towns of Union and Maine on Wednesday, April 23 (NC34).
Town of Maine board members have said they oppose the necessary zoning changes to make the project possible, and are engaged in a lawsuit over the project against the IDA (NC34). IDA officials argue it will support thousands of jobs and increase economic activity, but have announced no tenants for the prospective site.
🧱Eyesore at 263 Washington Street Ordered to be Torn Down
A well-recognized dilapidated landmark in Downtown Binghamton, the Kenmore Building, is ordered to be torn down months after owners were found guilty for dozens of code violations on the site. The building owners are to be sentenced in May (WNBF).
