Binghamton University continues its growth, with research spending in the 2025-26 year up 18% to $103.2 million. Most of that comes from federal contributions, while the rest comes from state, local, hospital, partner institution, and industry funding.

This includes research on energy storage, pharmaceuticals, and more, with the University set to expand its research into AI due to recent investments (WBNG).
