ENDICOTT – Endicott's Little Italy is in the midst of its first-ever restaurant week.

Hosted by the Little Italy Restaurant Association, the event runs until Sunday, April 26 and spotlights seven Northside Endicott restaurants:

  • 🍪Baked! by Camille
  • 🍝Oaks Inn
  • 🍝Concordia Restaurant
  • 🥗Cup O' Jo Cafe
  • 🍝Di Cotta’s
  • 🧁Jarets Stuffed Cupcakes
  • 🍕Joey’s

The specific deals for the week can be found here.

While the Village of Endicott has hosted restaurant weeks in the past, this is the first one specifically targeting and celebrating the Little Italy neighborhood on Endicott's North Side.

The Village also sports other restaurant hubs - not just Italian - on its Washington Ave. downtown and its western end near Main Street and Nanticoke Ave.

The event differs from the recent Binghamton Spring Restaurant Week. The participating eateries are offering exclusive discounts and specials for spring-inspired and popular dishes rather than the typical restaurant week 3-course meal.

Michael Romeo, owner of The Concordia Restaurant, helped form the new association. He said the goal for this event and the group is to promote and celebrate the neighborhood's restaurants – some of which have been around for about 100 years, and some of which are brand new.

"You don't have to look too far, you could get appetizers at one restaurant and then walk to the next one for dinner, walk to another one for dessert, come for lunch and stop at a couple different cafes or bakeries," Romeo said.

Romeo recently celebrated a year since The Conordia Restaurant acquired the former home of Consol's Family Kitchen. The well-loved landmark for Endicott-area families has since reopened as its new identity after significant renovations inside, and still uses some recipes from the prior restaurant.

Romeo encouraged people to get out, not just to support the restaurants, but also to celebrate the historic neighborhood. The area was the birthplace of spiedies*, is just a short walk from the former IBM campus and is home to George W. Johnson Park and its frequent Little League games and historic carousel.

"It's a neighborhood that gave some businesses the opportunity to really branch out and become something larger than they once were," Romeo said.

"Between all the restaurants and the residents and all the activities in the park, it really is just a hub of activity."

In the future, he the group intends Little Italy to host seasonal restaurant showcases, with featured dishes corresponding to the season during which the restaurant week is held.
