🗳️Election Results

You can see all the unofficial election results from this past Tuesday for Broome County here, and some Tioga County results here

Going against national trends, our purple county went mostly red this election, with Aaron Martin winning County Clerk and Jared Kraham winning a second term in the City of Binghamton.

Johnson City's mayoral race is heading to a recount, and Vestal's Democratic candidates pulled out over the two Republicans. Also, the election for Windsor Village Trustee apparently ended in a tie.

🍅🥫Pantries Stepping Up

In the face of SNAP cuts and delays, and increased demand for emergency food, even as Gov. Hochul announces additional state support, a lot of local food pantries and organizations are stepping in to fill local food gaps.

BU students have stepped up in various ways, a local woman launched a 'virtual food bank' and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier released a new tool to find emergency food. The food-a-bago campaign is also ramping up to help.

Here are supplies that help local emergency food suppliers like CHOW but most are asking for cash

Courts have forced some funding through, but the Trump Administration is determined to not see the full amount distributed until allocated by congress with an end to the shutdown.
