🥫Food Pantry Difficulties Continue, Met by Community

Area food pantries are seeing "unprecedented demand" (WBNG) in the face of SNAP pullbacks and delays even as New York State filled some gaps (NY Post).

Local politicians and community members worked to support SNAP recipients (Pipe Dream) and Tioga County approved $100k to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier (Fox40), but importantly, so did a lot of community members stepped up as well, supporting CHOW and other emergency food suppliers (WBNG).

WNBF published a letter of appreciation for the Southern Tier, which steps up when it needs to.

🏔️🌇Binghamton High Salutatorian Elected Seattle Mayor

Something I thought was neat -

Katie Wilson, Binghamton High School Class of 2000 salutatorian, was elected mayor of the City of Seattle this week, defeating the incumbent with a progressive campaign focused on affordability and fairer taxes.

Her parents are distinguished Binghamton University professors.
