🏗️Town of Maine sues IDA over controversial Tech Park plans
The Town of Maine is suing the Broome County Industrial Development Agency over its purchase of and plans to purchase more plots of land on the Airport Road corridor for its 545 acre technology park plans (WBNG).
The Town of Maine claimed the IDA violated state environmental law by acquiring land before completing the required environmental review process under New York’s State Environmental Quality Review Act, known as SEQRA.
The plan requires zoning changes, which the Town of Maine has so far been unsupportive of, and many residents have voiced opposition (NC34).
