Posters for various events this week
Binghamtonian is a reader-supported, writer-owned publication aimed at connecting residents of the Greater Binghamton Area with their community.

Weekly events newsletters are free via email and online, with
paid supporters receiving a weekly local news roundup and the variety column as a bonus for their support!

This list probably isn't everything - and if any events pop up the web version will be updated throughout the week!

Are we missing something? Please let me know at info@binghamtonian.news.

I suppose with Jackson's Pumpkin Farm reopening and Cider Mill pressing apples - fall is actually finally upon us.

We still have over a month to go for peak foliage, but something has definitely turned!

You can kick off the spooky season early this week to get a head start - be it through Serlingfest (where you can ride the Rec Park carousel for the last time this season) or the German Club's Oktoberfest!

Go take a stroll on the newly revived Washington Ave in Endicott this weekend for its AppleFest while you're at it – or better yet just run around the whole area for the arts trail, check out the concerts, or even get your Shakespeare on at the Cutler Garden. Plus, it's always nice to see Driftwood play the hometown.

Also! Thanks to everyone for signing up ❤️

It's great to see people excited about this newsletter, and I can't wait to build it even more with resources and community highlights soon! Stay tuned...

Also I promise I'll actually start posting on social media soon. No like for real! I promise!

As always, check out the most recent news roundup for a time-saving way to catch up on all that's gone on in the last week!

This week's recommendation:

Honestly? Go nuts. So many festivals are happening, the thing to do might be just to follow the arts trail downtown and try to sneak in Serlingfest, New Vine, and whatever else you can. If you can make it out to Maine, those events look really cool, and it's great to see J Ralph Ingalls be used.

For something not on this list, though? Check out The Pad Rock Climbing Gym. A wonderful addition to the recreation scene here, and clearly beloved by those who use it. If you haven't been, trust me, it's bigger than you think.

Let me know how I can improve this newsletter!

Art exhibitions, artisan vendors, live music, and artist demonstrations will take place across various municipalities at studios, galleries, museums, and other creative venues throughout the county. 🛹🐦‍⬛Sat. 9/20 - Sun. 9/21 Assault on the Art Scene: An Offbeat Exhibit
HCS / Spooky Action Industrial Arts, 1803 Castle Gardens Rd., Vestal
"Assault on The Art Scene
is an attack on the pretension that accompanies the average art show. This unusual exhibition is built upon the belief that: Art should not be safe. Art should not be boring. Art should feel dangerous. This provocative exhibit features pieces that lift the societal veil and allow their viewers a peek at the commonality underneath. Fueled by intangible compulsions, Kyle and Kardan both describe a loss of self/ego while creating their works. The aftermath is an offering from the other side… a primal exchange."
